For those of you who don't have Dropbox yet, it is a really great service that allows you to store data online while syncing it across your machines (be that laptop, pad or otherwise).

If you sign up directly you'll get an account with 2GB of free space, but if you go via a referral you'll get 500MB extra. Also if you go through some trivial tasks they'll reward you with another 250MB. If you want to give it a go here is a link to my referral: db.tt/2dUdWdV

There are also other services like ZumoDrive (integrated with Yahoo Mail), the Ubuntu One service if you use Linux, Microsoft SkyDrive if you're stuck on Windows, and SugarSync which gives you 5GB.

Dropbox is the only service I have found so far that is truly cross platform, allowing you to sync between Linux, Mac and Windows. I use it for documents and other things, but mainly to keep scripts and settings in one place and have it synchronised across multiple machines and operating systems.
