Artist's Comments

Hmm, this is the first time I've posted a work in progress, thought perhaps I'd ask your opinions before I ruin this thing hehe.

Normally I completely cover the whole thing with patterns, though there is a plan lingering in the back of my mind that I should leave the jacket white (would give a great contrast).

Another alternative is not to do more patterns on this one, which would perhaps not look to busy and it is probably better for colouring.

Furthermore I could just pattern the things around his wrists and perhaps the shoes.

What do you think?

For those who's not familiar with this one it is Vivi from Final Fantasy IX, though I'm wondering whether they bought or stole him from He-Man.

Yay! Great to see a WIP of yours for a change ;) He does look like that character from He-Man ... I never thought of that until you mentioned it. So far, I can't see anything that's lacking or off. In a way I agree with sonceto, perhaps you can leave his jacket without patterns, but therefore pattern his pants? That would look pretty good. Great start on this Stein!

Yes the problem with this is that if I do too much patterns it gets too busy, I also think he looks really good just like this, at least it is very good for colouring. I think I'll go on to do the gloves and shoes, and see where that leads me :shakefist:

Wow, I kept looking at this drawing and I had this odd feeling that I'd seen it before, and just now I realised that when I looked at the reference I did come up with the idea of just drawing his hat like that, funny huh. I think I will add more patterns to this since I have a somewhat descent digital copy of him as he is now. About the jacket and pants, I think I need to consider that for a while, don't want to over-do it, but I think I'll manage to come up with something :excited: Thanks for your continued support :)
